We have so many fantastic groups at Cranfield. Here’s a glimpse of what some of them have been up to recently, from cultural celebrations and creative workshops to special Easter activities and community events.
The Chinese Society rang in the New Year with a vibrant Spring Gala packed full of festive activities. Guests immersed themselves in traditional arts like intricate window paper-cutting and elegant ink calligraphy, with many proudly taking home their own handcrafted pieces.
The celebrations continued with a lively dumpling-making workshop, where participants learned the art of folding and filling, leaving with plenty of handmade dumplings to enjoy at home, along with a recipe to recreate the experience.
Adding to the excitement, a fun-filled quiz kept everyone on their toes, with prizes up for grabs and plenty of laughter along the way.
Cranfield’s Christian Union have been busy over the past few months and they’re not stopping now. With Easter approaching, they have a full programme of activities planned for students across campus.
They have already been in the CSA handing out Hot Cross Buns and sharing details of their upcoming Easter events. Be sure to check out their programme and get involved.
The CAIS had an engaging start to the year, creating spaces for both community building and impactful conversations. In February, they hosted AfricEnds, a vibrant social hangout that brought students together to connect, unwind, and celebrate African culture in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
In March, Lillian Awuor, a member of their strategic advisory circle and a digital and innovation expert and start-up founder, delivered a webinar titled Developing Tech Solutions for Impact in Emerging Markets. Participants explored how innovation can be leveraged to address real-world challenges across developing economies.
Keep an eye out for more webinars and events focused on innovation, sustainability, and youth-led impact still to come.
Looking ahead, the group is preparing for its upcoming flagship summit in May, themed: From Research to Impact: Solving Africa’s Wicked Problems in Poverty, Health & Energy: Through Innovation, Capital and Policy.
The summit will create a dynamic space for dialogue on how knowledge, innovation, and investment can work together to drive meaningful change.
